I was going on the assumption that the spark plugs had been removed and the pistons weren't going up and down.
The valve train not moving is a more straight forward problem. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the valves are all bent.
Porsche 944s use a timing belt, which should be serviced at 25k intervals. This is frequently ignored as a service item or botched by a backyard mechanic.
The belt breaks, the pistons hit the valves, but usually only a couple are bent. The pistons are usually fine.
Your situation is slightly different. The sprocket slipped, the valve timing changed slightly so the motor wouldn't idle. Then the sprocket slipped completely and the motor never ran again. Most of the valve-piston contact probably was during cranking...much different than a belt breaking on a motor running at redline.
