what year of 9000? 2.5 was stock in the early years. if you have a little more boost you should be fine with 3 bar. RRFPR will need a fuel pressure gauge to accurately set the idle pressure. They work well with stock size injectors, but are pricy, so try a 3 bar for now and see how it performs?
2.8 bar was a accessory for the Canadian spec/Euro-spec 9000SPG/Carlsson (at least in 87-88). this regulator is almost twice as much as a standard unit, as they are somewhat 'rare' for the late '80's 9000 OEM FPR connections/location.
