pumping the pedal only works when......

you mate it with a vac pump. And even this way you will be cursing to high heaven. Sorry, you will not be able to bleed the clutch simply my pumping it. It is remotely possible with 2 people, but even then it does a poor job. Even the Mity Vac is a bit dodgy. The easiest way is to apply air pressure to the reservoir. A pressure pump is best..... or a bicycle pump, and tube cut to fit around the reservoir cap (and clamped).
I bought a special cap off of ebay (search saab bleeder cap) that fits my bicycle floorpump.....best $8 I've ever spent;-)
