$3100 asking 71,900 miles automatic

owned by an elderly couple originally who traded it last year for a mercedes. bought by parents for daughter who now really wants a honda civic. he hasn't done anything to it since he's gotten it.

problems noted on phone:

headliner is drooping, cracked signal light lens, and car wash victimized antenna.

leather, loaded, ac cold, etc.

what do you think??

right now, i have a 92 9000S,168,000 miles, as some might have read, that seems to be having slave cylinder issues. gets worse, then better on its own, and gets really good if I bleed it, but that lasts a day before the pedal starts losing. master replaced two weeks ago, a few days before alternator (good timing says my bank account).

the trans makes a clicking/whining noise that goes away when clutch is pressed in, or in those brief moments when there is no load (not accelerating/not engine braking), those in between moments when starting to coast in gear, or when the movement of the car seems to let up load. otherwise, the car is great, save for a noisy strut mount, but my saab mech suggested i replace it because he couldn't diagnosis the trans noise and doesn't want to see me replace the slave and clutch and then have something go wrong with the trans down the road. i figure 1000 to do the clutch/slave, and add $750-1000 to replace the trans.

so, i'm looking around, especially at automatics, even though they're not highly marked, because i'm tired of shifting in traffic all the time here, there are hardly any good driving roads where i live, it is all lights, 30 mph driving.

anyway, any thoughts from those more experienced and knowledgeable than myself would be most gratifyingly appreciated.

and, could the 92 9000 make a nice parts car for the 93?? like ac, alternator, etc., should things go wrong down the road??

other cars to look at, if they call me back:

so far no nice hatchbacks, my first choice, but...

90 900 4 door auto, meticulously maintained wth many repairs, 110,000 miles $2700

91 900 4 door, saab mech maintained with new auto trans, 120,000 miles $2100

92 turbo conv, 5 speed, $3500 excellent cond
