i have a 87 9000 turbo and it was originally an automatic now it is a manual and i bought it that way knowing that the syncros on 2nd and 5th gear were not right. The car works and shifts fine if i baby the forementioned gears. Yesterday after a 5-7 mile drive i parked the car and left it for about two hrs, when i got back into the car to go to work i was unable to put the car into reverse, no grinding, no slipping, it is like reverse is not there also when shifting into 5th gear i now have to pull up on the lockout mechanism to get it to go into gear. I would like to think this is an easy problem to fix and that my trans is not shot 1st through 5th are still fine. if there is anyone out there with some advice for me (other than change the transmission) i would really appreciate it.
