LF parking light fixed!

Turned out to be a corroded wire in the wiring harness. I hadn't looked especially close at the wire colors beyond that black=ground.
I looked at the rear taillights to see what circuits they used, and it's the same ones! But that closer look made a possibility obvious--I had only fixed the splice on the black ground wire. A BLUE wire went to both the orange and white sections, and the splice of those two blue wires into the harness was further down than the splice for the black ground wires.
Once I found the splice for the blue wires, it was obvious that it needed to be replaced--it fell apart in my hands. Cut the wires, stripped the ends, and voila! The return of the parking lights!
Gavin--thanks for your post. Even though you didn't have exactly the right answer, it was because of your post that I had hope where none existed before! I also would not have tried looking at the rears without your suggestion, which is what led to the "light bulb" moment that solved the problem. Thanks again.
