Like the other posts said, you'll either love it, or you'll hate it. My advice is to take it far away, set it on fire, and watch it burn. After it's finished burning, walk away from it and never think about it again. If you don't follow that advice, then don't say I didn't warn you. By keeping this car, you'll develop an addiction of trying to figure out every quirk that develops or want to shoot the engineers that designed it or both. They are great cars, but maintenance-free and Saab cannot be used in the same sentence. You'll need to have at least some basic mechanical ability and be willing to get your hands dirty from time to time. That, or you'll need a small fortune and a trusted mechanic that you want to make rich.
All that said, there is enough knowledge on this board to get you through every problem that the car can throw at you and that is why I still own mine. In fact, I'm on my 3rd Saab. I love it one day, and hate it the next. I love the fact that I can lower the back seats and carry a full-size couch, but hate the fact that I have to wait 4 days for every part to get shipped to me because the local auto-parts guys start laughing when I ask for the most common of parts. But I can honestly say that I've never been at a stoplight where another car like mine has been next to me. That is something that I like. I hate the little things like the leaky heater cores and the engineers putting the clutch slave cylinder inside the transmission!
Anyhow, enough rambling from me. Welcome to the board, and good luck to you!
Tom
