Car Died Follow Up

I did the jumper wire (spaded ends stuck in to the fuses 14 and 22) and nothing. I wacked it also ...no go. The fact that I have had this problem (no Start) for awhile leads me to think it has been the fuel pump for a while. I immediately changed the DI because I had 130K on it. Also, the fact that I took a pretty hard tun when the car died and momentarily came back to life leads me to think it is the pump. Any other advice before I sink over $400 into the car? My wife will kill me if
I buy the pump and it still won't work. Thanks.
