Maybe they vary?

I've seen a lot of people here and elsewhere talking about how fast Accords are. Let me relate my experience...
About 1.5 years ago, my Wife bought a demo 2003 Accord sedan, V6, automatic, about 6000 miles on it. Rated 220 or 225 HP if I recall.
At the time I was driving an '86 9000 which was absolutely stock except for some mild APC tweaks and probably better tires than OE. Car had a 5-speed and about 250K miles on it.
The *only* race in which her car could outrun mine was maybe 0-20. Any other conditions it didn't stand a chance. With one exception of course: her car could consume gas *way* faster than the Saab ;^)
AFAIK there was nothing wrong with the Honda, it ran perfectly, never a CEL or anything. Synthetic oil and premium gas in both cars.
Curious.
