You could try posting the colours painted on the springs, which give lots of information about wire diameter, free length and so forth - this usually gets people jumping! If you want to do your research in private, try searching this site for "spring colours". Remember that there are differences between manual and automatic cars, due to the weight of the transmission, so auto springs at the front might put the nose of a manual car too high.

Also, why not put a micrometer on the anti-roll bar to see if it's 18mm or 19mm. measure a straight section, not near a bend. I always understood that all new-shape cars had 19mm bars but this may not be true, or not in all markets.

Having said that, you're talking about 12-year-old suspension components, so maybe a new Sports suspension plus poly bushes would be a better bet?

Finally, I'm sure you know that wheels and tyres make a lot of difference to ride and handling as well as to grip. If you don't have 16" wheels I'd recommend them as part of the package.

The Beast - 1993 2.3 CSE turbo S automatic, formerly Saab Sport suspension (from new), now Abbott springs, Koni adjustables and poly bushes.
