runs rough after new bigger Fuel pressure regulator- Posted by Henry Helfman [Email] |
My Fuel pressure regulator went bad thursday causing me to completely flood my intake and engine with gasoline that got blown through the vacuum line. Yesterday I replaced it with a used low mile one (couldn't find anybody who stocks a new early 9kt FPR), changed oil and got the engine running again.
Runs a bit rough, stumbles under load and stalls from time to time when letting back off the throttle. I noticed the original FPR was stamped 2.5bar and this one is 3.0bar. Could the higher pressure be causing my engine to run too rich? I definately notice my exhaust seems to be smelling like it's running rich.
Should the AFM/MAS be adjusted to compensate for higher pressure? How do you do that?
THanks
Henry
