...the throttle position sensor...
the one flash i think could mean that there is 1 engine code to pull... if you brought the car to a shop with a tech II device, but i'm not positive on that.
It sounds to me like you're TCS throttle body has kicked the bucket... if you haven't already replaced it.... but i'm not an expert on that either.
Honestly, no matter what the problem is, it sounds serious enough to bring it to a shop and have it inspected, ESPECIALLY if you are about to go on a 800 mile trip with the car next week.
I would have brought your car to a shop before such a trip anyways, just to have it looked at, even if you thought everything was ok. I mean it's cheap insurance right? becuase if it breaks down on the road, and yo'uve got to get a tow to some mechanic you don't know, and then you're paying for a rental car, or taxi's everywhere, and then you're paying for a hotel... or a plane ticket home... depending on how bad the car is broken... i think you get my point.
Even if there was something simple you could do to remedy this problem, which i'm sorry to say i don't think there will be... you should make an appointment to get the car fixed ASAP before your trip...
...or, find another car to use... and spare yourself the headache of breaking down away from home.
Rental car might be cheaper to take on the trip, than fixing your car would be right now... look into it.
