before the slave is completely faulted, is there any possibility it is the seal between the trans and the slave?? the fluid stays sealed inside the slave, right?? the seal between trans and slave is NOT a source for leaking fluid, right??
my surfaces were clean, and the bolts were tight, i just want to confirm. parts tech told me it was self-contained problem and was apologetic and happy to send me new replacement slave.
But, I found one post where someone suggested this seal was a source for leaks.
As for Lockheed, eEuro sells them too, and swedishparts.net guy said he wasn't aware of ever having a return on that item. There were some vice marks on the slave - i figured that was from some testing procedure, my friend thought it meant that unit had been rebuilt. I wonder if this was someone else's return. The actual unit seemed to have a slightly different machining than my original, so I think it was (at one point) a true aftermarket new item.
