There have been a couple of discussions lately about how many speakers there actually are in the top audio package (Harmon Kardon). The general consensus was that there are actually 6 or 8 speakers, and the rest is marketing hype. Well, I went and looked at them, and I can assure you there are physically 10 speakers there. In the front there are two 4" cones, and two 0.75" tweeters. In the rear there are two 6x9 cones, two 3.5" cones, and two tweeters. I could not tell the exact size of the tweeters, because they are covered. But these are all completely separate speakers, with separate connectors. There are no 2-way, or coax speakers. Granted, the mid range and tweeters are wired together, meaning there are only 6 amplifier channels. The point is, separate speakers are much higher quality than coax, or 2-way speakers. In conclusion, the 10 speaker claim is NOT marketing hype.
