After about a year of sorta searching for a car, I finally bought one today. 1991 9000T with 128,xxx miles on it. The car has been sitting for about 8months on pavement in NY. so not really through a winter. The front end has been repainted and the headlights and bumper appear to be new. The guy i bought it from never knew if it was in an accident as it was like that when he got it. You can tell it was repainted because of the color difference, not too bad under flashlight. The car is "taledega red" Hopefully when i wax and buff the rest, the difference wont be too great.
The main problem with it is something clutch. Looking at the clutch through the tranny covers, its not worn badly at all. I think its just a hydrolic problem as there is no pressure on pedal and pedal is to the floor (sitting on the floor)
Only work it needs to get running is fix the clutch. Its got the 16s in good condition w/ worn out snows, ill probibly not use the car till after the winter.
The interior is immaculate excluding the headliner and sunroof liner, but as i wrote a few posts down, i plan on chaning that to glass.
I also believe it has a 10disc cd changer as i saw the little control panel in the center console, but wasnt able to open the trunk.
One question I do have is where a good place to buy fabric that will match "perfectly" with the current headliner material?
Overall, i paid 750 and have to dolly it out. Also. the exhaust is "new" except the cat part is rusted out where it connects to intermediate pipe, so it leaks there, i have a new exhaust to put on. so no money spent. rust = hardly any, doors are solid, little bubbles on the molding over rear tire well, but you have to be looking for it to actually see it.
I feel as though i got a hell of a deal considering that it may only be the master cylinder, i feel pretty good about the purchase, good thing i have another car while i fix this one though (a saab of course)
from what i described, do you feel its a pretty good deal?
