'93 9K CSET
OK, so a few weeks ago my fiance's driving the 9k, and she reports no power. I drive it, and it is not giving any boost. The gauge goes up to the border between white and yellow, but never above. I swapped out the BPC with the three vacuum lines going to it (BPC, right?) But I am not sure if it is a working spare I put in. It did not solve the problem. I have no warning codes, I am not in limp home, and I am pretty sure there are no vacuum leaks. The idle is stable, and the froot-loop colored boost gauge does not fluctuate at idle. It shows a steady needle at the middle of vacuum at idle, as it should.
Here is the weird thing: The heater is suddenly not really working either. This happened after the boost problem started. The fan comes on, you can adjust the temp on the SCC and all, but it never really blows hot air. Any ideas about this one? I am stumped. What actuates the heater control valve? Do they often fail? It seems to give a little warmth, but not much.
I have an old 99 turbo, and I am not afraid to do my own work, but when I open the hood of the 9k I expect an alarm to go off saying "STEP AWAY FROM THE ENGINE... NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS!!!" Please help!
Regards,
Craig R.
