Well, after about a year of sorta searching, i finally found a car. Whats more is that this is THE car that I have wanted since i was like 16 (im 20 now).
I paid 750 for it, great deal i would say.
Only thing that is REALLY wrong with it is the clutch. I believe it is just the master cylinder; either went bad, or has an air bubble in it. Tomorrow, i plan on going home (car is at my parents) and pressure bleeding it and of course checking all the lines. If that doesnt work, i will change the master cylinder (with one i already have) and if that doesnt work.. then i have some more troubleshooting to do.
Other things that i need to fix are (possibly) the breaks (as it has been sitting in a pavement driveway for about 10mths) and the headliner which i plan to reupholster that. Other things I want to do are change the metal sunroof to glass (already have the means to do so) and eventually in the far future, tint the windows very lightly (NY laws suck) and buy the mod chip (anyone know where that is available).
Few things I know i need to do before i get it on the road. Change the oil. As far as i know, its not synthetic now. The car has 120,000 miles on it and I would like to/really want to change it to synthetic, is there something special i need to do, like a flush, or do i just treat it like a normal oil change? Also.. I will probibly remove the valve cover and take a look at the timing chain.. may/should change it in the future, but that might have to wait till the summer/after the holidays at least.
What are some other things i should check/do before i drive it too much?
And since I (and 99% of you) dont know how to post picture on this forum, you'll have to click my links.
