I ordered and received a clutch supply hose (Saab P/N 4385043) for my '91 9000 from http://www.SwedishParts.com.
I could not get the hose to fit over the hose barbs on either the brake fluid reservoir or the clutch master cylinder. I realize that this hose should be a tight fit, but there's no way this was/is going on. I tried for about 30-45 minutes straight and gave up only when I noticed that I was starting to stress the hose barb "nipples". I lubed the inside of the hose, I warmed it up, I found a piece of plastic rod to put inside to "work it around" and loosen it up, but nothing worked.
So, I emailed http://www.SwedishParts.com over a week ago... and got no response. I called today, described the problem again. The guy that I spoke to claimed that the hose is a "genuine" Saab part and there is *no way* that it doesn't fit. Since I didn't have the hose with me (I did not bring it to work with me), he did not want to discuss the problem until he could verify that I received the proper part. Ugh. I know that I got what they intended to ship.
Can somebody take a look at the picture that I have linked and let me know whether it looks like the genuine Saab replacement clutch supply hose? It's strange to see the words "not for brake" printed on the outside of the hose, but I suppose that means that it's not for pressure applications, so it's fine as a supply hose.
Any other comments are appreciated. I am disappointed by the way that http://www.SwedishParts.com is acting so far. I guess I should have stuck to the "regulars".
