My 1st SAAB was an 87 900S, but expanding family required a quick change in 89 to a used 87 9kT. I still own this car with over 200K and use it as a daily driver while my 94 Aero waits for me to fix the fuel pump. But I know that as time goes on, my ability to fix these cars will diminish and I'm already looking at maybe a 2002 9-5 as a replacement for the 87. (I'll keep the 94 as the "backup" car while I'm fixing the 9-5.)
So, good luck to you with your newer GM SAAB. I've browsed the 9-5 board in preparation for my next SAAB and found it to be helpful. As with all newer cars these days, more of the troubleshooting will depend on technology and less on the judgement of we humans. We need some computer techs to help develope interfaces and programs to analyze the systems on the future cars so we can make informed decisions about repairs. Any takers?
Good luck! -Cal
