As we advice all owners of the V6 engine. Do a search for V6, timing belt or timing belt tensioner on this, the NG900 and 9-5.
It's very few 9000 with V6 engine so you find much more info by searching the other two boards.
I must say that it is vey low mileage on that 95 9000.
One thing that is absolutly cruicial. Make sure that when they installed the timing belt at 24K miles that you got the WHOLE new tensioner kit and belt installed not the just the belt.
Saab change the timing belt for free at 35, 65 and 95K miles and at one point they install the whole tensioner kit for free too.
Yes, timing belt get some wear just from sitting and the industry standard has been that belts should be replaced every 50-100K or 5 years (whichever comes first). Now with many modern cars (2000 and up) the change interval has gone more toward 100K miles and 10 years.
You don't want to break the timing belt. The cost to repair engine starts at around $3000.00
