On these older cars that air intake elbow can become very brittle and yes you need to be careful when trying to get it off.
Some people would just grab and jank it off but it can crack right in that bend.
Try to open the hose clamp and use a small screwdriver as a prybar between the rubber and throttle body and slowly work it off.
Even a squirt of oil under there do wonders.
