I am the original owner of a 1991 9000 5DR 2.3i. I ordered an optional set of three gauges, voltmeter, oil pressure (0-80 PSI) and oil temperature (120 - 300 F) when I ordered the car. The gauges, made by VDO, have SAAB on the faceplate. See page 33 of the May 1997 SAAB Accessories Reference Catalog for the gauges and page 79 for the "console adapter" that they are mounted in. I doubt if any of these items are still available from SAAB. The sending unit for my oil pressure gauge is a combined unit that also has a contact for the oil pressure light. The oil temperature sending unit replaced the sump drain plug. The gauges, except for the SAAB logo, appear to be identical to the VDO Cockpit series and they have VDO P/Ns on them. I recently installed a VDO P/N 323 905 (1/8 NPT) sending unit in the plug (22mm hex) in the oil filter adapter that you remove to gain access to the oil thermostat. That way I get the temperature of the oil BEFORE it goes to the cooler. If you go to http//http://www.vdona.com you will be able to find your way to the gauges and sending units. If you need additional help please let me know. By the way, my oil temp was running cold (150 F) in the winter before I replaced the oil thermostat. Now it runs at about 180 F, even in very cold weather.
