...and flipping it back will send you back to radio mode. With my setup, the source button should still defeat the CD player when it's playing, but will not defeat my AUX in cable. If you installed the cable and switch, you would still use the SOURCE button to switch to your changer, but it wouldn't work if the DPDT switch was in the on position.
This did just give me an idea, however, to use the source button. When you press it, the deck may send out a signal to "search" for the changer. If that signal could be isolated, you could use it to activate the AUX cable (ie replace the DPDT switch with transistors and a flip-flop). I may do some further exploration in the future, but the switch method made for a pretty good quick fix.
