Can my car be killing BPC valves?

When I bought my 95CSE the BPC valve was dead.
It has been replaced at 60K and I bought the car at 99K but I do not know how long it had been dead. My indy got me a used one which turned out to be no good. He got that replaced with another used one that worked. After less than 200 miles this one died.
It seems too much of a coincidence that a BPC valve that was working would die after being in my car for less than 200 miles.
My worry is that I will pay $200 for a new one and my car will kill it quickly. Am I worrying about nothing?
