As by previous posts, i have had a real rich runnung car, not drivable.
So from the last post, I have pulled the fuel pump and level sender to get access to the tank. I drain the remaining gas, about 3 gal. and wiped the tank dry. Checked the pickup filter on the prepump and it was very clean, but rinsed it anyway. There was a brownish film on the fuel level transmitter, covering the lower half of the body. It would wipe off with some effort. So i figured it was just showing the gas level that had been in the car for a while?? No a big deal. Just residue from the fuel i guess.
So i got things cleaned up, checked the resistance of both pumps. prepump showed 3 or 6 ohms and main pump was the 6 ohms i beleive.
I also mopped up the gas in the front part of the tank to get all the sedimet out of the gas tank. Put in a new Wix fuel filter today, left the back floor open to check for leaks and listen to the pump. Pump started a run about a sec or 2 after the starter. Run but wont start after a few attempts, so i loosened the inlet fitting on the fuel rail, tell i got the air out and some gas, tightened and it started. I put in 5gal. of 91 octane.

Good Throttle response for several minutes, so i hooked up the voltmeter and got .6 and raising slow. So i pulled off the boost line and didnt get a volt change. Pulled the FPR line and with it off for a couple minutes the fuel smell was strong (richer) and the idle smoothed out more. The other line was back on. I checked for vacumm at the side with the fpr line/pvc and the end with the boost/bov line and both read 13-14psi vac. With the small surging of the idle it didnt change more the 1psi. I have removed the big canister line and plugged the fitting at the intake, and no change in the vac. reading. (canister is ok then i guess.)
At idle.
But the throttle response is real bad now after it has run and warmed, although my fan doesnt run until it gets about 3/4 up on the guage.
I step on the gas and it has no response hardly, if i hold it off idle or hit the pedal fast it bogs immediately. That is what is was doing at the very first. It now spits out the exhaust kind of like a pop noise tell i let off the throttle (1/4).
So with the vac. line disconnected from the FPR and i smell it richer. Is that telling me anything i need to know?? It stared to run better now it seems worse response wise. With new clean fuel. So i know that work wouldnt do much for running rich, except the fuel filter did make it start alot faster the second time after it got fuel. Now it is 2-3 sec. of crank time again.??? Any suggestions?? TIA.
