Shipping info for a door Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Thu, 3 Mar 2005 07:08:29 In Reply to: Re: rear door, Gabe, Wed, 2 Mar 2005 13:07:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I took a look through my receipts and found the one for shipping my door. It was classified as 100 pounds, Class 125 - whatever that means. The "recycler" wrapped it in corrugated cardboard to protect it from getting scratched. From my memory, I don't believe that it actually weighed 100 pounds, but because of its size it may have been bumped into that weight classification, which is something that most shipers do. Shipped via a local trucking service, this three hour trip from downstate Illinois to Chicago cost $75, which included a surcharge for delivery to a residence. My guess is that it's a lot more for NJ to Florida. Hope this helps.
