I had a similar problem with my 94 MB E320 but for me, it was the check engine light. I eventually sold the car after determining the wiring harness was bad.
Here are some of the less expensive things to explore:
-the brake stop switch. If this has an intermittant short, then it can trigger the abs computer fault
-check fuses and relays. Check fuses and relays and make sure you have good connections without corrosion
-check speed sensors/wheel sensors. The ABS/TCS depends on a speed signal which connects between the sensor on the wheel and the abs computer. Also there is a speed sensor which connects in one of the wheels (usually left rear) and goes to a junction near the speedo. From there is connects to the magnetic sensor behind the speedo. Make sure you are getting a signal at the speedo.
-How did you check the fault codes? There are several systems and you may not have gotten down to the correct 'menu' to see all the codes. Does this car use Bosch HFM? Does it have the flash codes?
-Finally, have you tried replacing the ABS computer? You should be able to find one cheap in a junk yard or on eBay.
The one thing I didn't mention was the throttle body. Hopefully, that isn't your problem.
