...then the car IS dead, in my opinion... for i will not be replacing it a third time.
that's all i have to say about that.
i hope that isnt the case... but i've been burned before, once when a tranny case seal went bad... factory defect under warranty, so it was free, however this is not...
anyways...
i went to Full Sail technical institute in orlando florida for an associate of science degree in "the recording arts".... which is everything audio related in studio environments.
i've been a musician all my life, but didnt want to be a starving performer...
...always loved computers, but didn't want to work on them for a living.
so music and computers meet nicely in a studio... and thus i went for a degree in audio engineering.
then i realized studio work is kind of monotonous, believe it or not... and got a second degre in "show production and touring"
which is basically the in's and out's of concert touring, theatrical performances from behind the scenes, and television broadcasting, or sports broadcast engineering...
...this was MUCH more entertaining to me, as lots of travel is involved.
one of the things i became familiar with in this second degree is acoustical testing.
the architectural firm i mentioned in my original post uses acoustical testing extensively to design new rooms or enhance existing rooms to listening perfection... and i thought i'd give it a go and see what it's like.
i got to travel to different homes and studios and run tests on their systems... it was pretty fun.
the guy i worked for, john storyk, was the original designer of Electric LadyLand in NYC... owned by Jimi Hendrix.
he didnt talk about the whole thing very much... and i didn't ask... but i did see the blue prints down in the basement one day. i wish i took a picture.
i'm not sure where i'll go from this internship... it's prolly just a good reference to throw around.
concert lighting seems to be my forte', or i'd like it to be. audio work is all kind-of stiff and rigid, not too much room to be creative. it's not an exact science, but it's damn close.
i want a job with some creativity, and since i'm trained in operating moving light rigs, like at rock concerts, i think that's it for me.
blah blah blah... i wanna drive my car...
