Funny you should ask, my '97 CSE also seems to be full of little squeaks and rattles that are hard to locate. The first step is to figure out where the noise is really coming from, naturally easier said than done. I had my wife drive the car around over bumps while I contorted myself into all sorts of positions, finally nailing one in the hatch and one in the sunroof, though a bunch more await. There are so many accoustical oddities inside a car that the source can fool you. You can also play around with a short length of hose, one end to the noise and one to the ear, or get hold of a stethoscope someplace. There's even a company that makes wireless mikes that you can place all over the car and listen from a receiver, but I doubt you'd need such a thing for the interior.
One thing I've found is that with leather seats, you have to treat them regularly to avoid the leather-on-leather noise they make. Also the seat belt holder rubbing against the leather makes noise. I'd try that first and see what happens. More than that I cannot say.
Drives you nuts, doesn't it? Good luck, keep us posted.
