Hey all, A big step just happened here. My 88 9kt. just got its wheels turning on the road again. This is the First time i drove the car more than 5 blocks. So I had to drive the car to get its vin# inspected. Which was about 70 mile round trip.
I was listening for ALL noises and Rattles and things. Holding my breath and crossing my fingers. I found 3 problem areas.
1) there is a slight whine as the speed is increased, on the right side. I beleive it to be a wheel bearing starting to go bad or gone bad. I tried the slight turning on the steering and it did change the sound but i dont think it went away. Will try again. The steering shakes some above 50 mph. But know about wheel and alignment issues.

2) The Auto Trans. I can say that i was Happy the the transmission even shifted at all, but here is what it is doing. Upshifting is good to all gears, not a crisp fast shift, but a smooth shift, no delay between any gear much. So on the downshift from 4th to 3rd there is a problem. It will downshift Real hard with a thud like it missed a gear, On slowing down to a stop. Or on downshift to say passing gear. This i hope may change with a fluid change. Or not---????

3) The Spark plugs are BCP6ES in it now. I checked them when i got back home to see what they read. As this was the start of a long problem fix.
I had put these in the car when it was running rich to help burn some carbon off. Ok--now they are White on the tip that is exposed beyond the threads-and black up inside but no soot anywhere. The base of the threads show dark brown on the flat bottom of the plugs. I dont have any " 7 " series. But i did have a set of Bosch Super plugs i bought early on. I put those in and the car WOULD NOT IDLE. Amazing!!!! So i have to order some BCP7ES plugs. Can i use BCPR7ES also???? I figured i need to adjust the AMM to get it running RICHER AGAIN. Oh Great here we go again back to square ONE. HE HE. The AMM is at 630 now. Iam thinking their lean now as to them being white, and the black aaaaaaaaaaah i dont know, residual???

88 9kt. 176k miles.
