You're right that this is an easy job, but missed an important part of the job.
The nut that holds the bushing to the lower arm should be slightly loose when you put the reinforcing (cover) plate back on. The car should be back on the ground, with the wheel on to load the suspension, before the bushing nut is tightened.
The rear shaft doesn't rotate inside of the bushing. The rubber flexes. If you tighten the back nut with the suspension arm down, you're setting the rubber of the bushing in the wrong place.
