BFG Traction TA's. They seem to be a pretty good happy medium. They are enough tire for most all my spirited drives (I wouldn't want them on the track, but I don't race the car) and they are really good rain tires, with an aggressive enough tread for the snow. (I have studs for the winter, but I drove the Traction TA's on a few snowy occasions with no adverse reaction - I live in Bozeman, MT, so the snow is dry and squeeky...almost no need for studs if I stay on well-traveled roads)
That's what I have, and I'm pleased...but I don't have much else to compare things to, as the Bridgstope Potenza RE-730's that were on the car when I bought it were nearly bald, and I never drove it in the rain with those...The Potenza's had stiffer side walls though.
