c/v joint, wheel alignment, etc Posted by TML [Email] (#2212) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TML) on Thu, 5 May 2005 21:03:51 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I replaced the outer c/v boot the other day. I checked the c/v joints, and they seemed good. Re-assembled, everything seemed fine. Now today, I notice the steering wheel is no longer centred, it is off by 5 degrees. Is this just a coincidence? As I say, it happened a couple of days later. I double checked to make sure everything was torqued, and still attached properly. The car still tracks well; if I let go of the steering wheel, it does not drift or pull, it's just that for the car to go straight, the steering wheel is turned right about 5 degrees, and it wasn't like that before. Could it be a wheel alignment issue? Or do I just take off the steering wheel and put it back on 5 degrees left?
