A year ago I sadly traded my Viggen convertible for an Aero wagon so my wife could haul around our new arrival. I bought myself a daily driver to replace my wifes 91 9000 (confused?). The car I drive now is a 1995 9000 Aero 5 spd and it was bone stock with a broken intercooler when I bought it-paid $3500. I've been gradually putting a few bucks in this car and everyday I like it more and more. It fits all my sales material easily in the back. I'm treated to the lap of luxury every time I sit and get hugged by the awesome seats. When gas is $2.50 a gallon I'm glad I'm getting 27mpg in mixed driving. And did I mention the power. I've added a K&N, a 3" Down Pipe, and an SQR Stage 3 ECU (i'll finish the 3" next month).
I've recently driven Acura TL's, Audi A6, BMW 530, Infinity G35, and while they are all great cars, they all completely underwhelmed me. After 10 years of technology and the price you have to pay for admission, these cars just don't seem worth it. Combined I've spent less than $7,000 on my car including the purchase price. None of the cars even come close in raw power, none of them can match the efficiency, and with all the money I'm saving, I could buy replace almost every thing that could go wrong in the car and still come out ahead.
When it comes to bang for the buck, a 9000 Aero is very hard to beat. Plus its a beautiful car that you don't see on every street corner.
