I have the same car, and the problem is the cable housing, not the motor. One under seat motor drives 2 cables which operate the seat back recline mechanisms on each side.
The housing over the cable cracks and renders the unit inoperable. On rare occasions, the housing just slips out of its home in the motor.
Repair is as follows for the broken housing:
Using the up/down lever on the seat, get it as even as you can before doing anything else. Then remove the seat,(there are probably several good write ups on how to do that, check quasimotors.com if its still up)
Option 1: Once you isolate and remove the broken cable housing, (it just pulls out of the motor), you can replace it with a new one. Cost should be around $35-$50 for the replacement part.
Option 2: This one is only if you are really good and cheap, like me. You can take the broken pieces of the housing, and slip as short-ish piece of really tight fitting gas line over one end, then slip the other end into the remaining open end of the gas line. Wrap it up tight with some duct tape and voila! The gas line and tape form a splint that holds the housing together. Did my driver seat and passenger seat 2 years ago and no problems yet.
Hope this helps.
