Nope - not BPC, although you are correct it does change frequencies. You can repeat more clearly if you decelerate and removing the BPC from system makes no difference.
My best guess is that it is related to either something switching over in the vacuum system or perhaps the alternator loading/unloading. I'm running TCS throttle body and thought for a long time that it might be the butterfly changing over to 'economy' mode. But, I gather it is the same with non-mechanical throttle body.
You can get a better feel for it on deceleration - it's like something has switched over allowing more air into the manifold. Maybe it is related to how it fuels at around 2,000 - 3,000.
