It happened to two of my 9k's, both 94 cs also. Luckily on both occasions I was able to get the shank out without great difficulty. And both occasions the car was parked in the garage when I just happen to spot them. In my case when the head is gone, the bolt tension is gone too. Matter of fact, I was able to turn them with a pair of needle nose pliers. Guess your case is different.
Since access is a problem, the timing cover has to be removed. This is a big deal. But if you can as much drill a small hole onto the shank, I believe taking it out won't be too much problem.
