Was able to change gasket w/o removing turbo. Had to swing out AC compressor and exhaust downpipe. I disconnected the water supply line not at the turbo, but at the head, and that gave just enough play to push the entire assembly down enough to slip in the new gasket. What made my job probably easier than most was that all the LONG studs either came out or I was able to put lock two nuts together and remove them. I put in short studs as replacements. I also removed the rubber inlet hose to the turbo, the rubber inlet hose to the intercooler.
I now have an extra turbo gasket ( that I hope I will never need) and a few extra exhaust studs and nuts.
ALl in all, took 5 hours, but much time spent on replacing exhaust DP nuts (hour)and a few other snags. maybe 3-4 hours next time.
Thanks all!
REGARDS, HUEY
