I had this happen on my '89.
I went to the hardware store, bought a brass male to male (threaded on outside) 3/4" (I think) connector. I then fitted a section of old heater hose tightly over the outside (the outside threads dig in nicely into the heater hose). This I inserted into the top of the radiator where the fitting had broken. It is a nice snug fit. Finally, I used two clamps, one before the radiator and one in the standard spot to clamp the top hose to the new piece and the radiator.
While it does cut down a little on the coolant flow, I have not found it to make any difference. It also hasn't moved a millimeter or leaked in well over two years, and I DO drive in city traffic all the time.
Oh, plus it cost maybe $2 total.
