P1171 Code / DI Cassette Differences

I got a spare DI cassette, was fairly cheap as the black part that goes over the plugs was broken, this part is held on with screws so it is easy to swap.
Anyway, I tried the spare DI, and within a day had a check engine light, think that it was following full throttle. Never had that before with the old DI. Put the old DI back in, and a few days later got around to checking the code, P1171, lean mixture. Reset the code and it did not reappear.
Looked around for a vacuum leak and found that I'd used improper materials when I did my auto to manual conversion. I'd attached a plugged hose on the fitting that went to the auto, and it had split. So, guess it was not really leaking much at idle (ECU didn't notice) but would under boost. Definitely a difference in performance, though it was still pretty quick with the leak so I thought that I was getting used to it.
Haven't gotten around to trying the other DI again, though I suspect it will boost a bit higher which is why there was no code with the original (to me) DI and the leak.
