This is the car I removerd the drive train after sundown trying to hurry things up only to break the gear rod which I later have to replace the 5 speed transmission.
While I had the drive train out, I replaced the front driver side strut assembly with one from my wrecked 94cs in an attempt to isolate the clunk which has been there. Three bolts on the strut tower and two at the steering knuckle, that's easy enough to do.
I found the clunk is still there on the 94cs turbo with the known good strut. The clunk is there only at medium to slow speed hard left turns. At higher speed and turns the clunks are not there.
Where do I round up the usual suspect? I know the axle nut is tight.
