Sorry for the long delay.
I always post as 'Gavin Short' and sign the post 'Gavin'.
I haven't been on here for quite a while - prompted by an SAAB lpg question from Australia.
The '89 900S 16v lpg was sold on at 240,000 miles and is still going strong we see it around. The 93 9000 2.3 CSE auto lpg was sold 2 years ago and was replaced by a '98 9000 lpt anniversary which has been converted to lpg.
Although home is still in UK I am working in Brussels, Belgium and bought a cheap Land Rover '92 200Tdi Discovery off a friend which is great for Brussels traffic, having presence on the road, resilient to the normal touch parking in the city, old enough that if it gets crunched is not really a problem. It is also a better vehicle for driving in and out of muddy fields whilst towing a glider(sailplane) trailer and getting my clobber for the flat from A to B.
Although I can get a duty free car whilst working in Brussels I am still not enamoured with the 93 orthe 95. Also it would have to run on gas (fuel costz, even in Belgium are far too high).
