the same thing your describing is frequently found in the c900 models with auto trans when the heat from the exhaust cooks the grease out of the right side inner driver then they wear grooves in the sides where the bearings sit.
you should beable to find it easily by trying to shake the axles up and down (not in and out) also try twisting motion to find out if one has more play than the other.
