My thanks to all who had posted hints and tips about this repair. I started last Tues. thinking that I'd do it quickly (having to use spouse's car puts extra pressure on). Went with local parts place to save time... but the water pump kit they had didn't have the big O-rings for the block side of the pump, and they couldn't supply them. So I went to eEuroparts (like I should have from the start) and Todd came through with the stuff in time for the weekend. Even sent the extra O-ring I ordered for Saturday delivery, that touch of top-notch service. One bolt for the AC bracket was snapped and had to be drilled out, and I stripped the head on one of the three T-40 Torx bolts that hold the pump and had to hacksaw it off, but the car is back together and everything is tight. The vaseline for the O-rings is a great idea... made it easy.
