The SAAB 3L V6 engine was made by Vauxhal in Great Britain, I believe. If you can establish the compatibility between that engine and the Opel engine, I think you will have a starting point.
For reference, do a search on Saturn on this bulletin board. A while back someone replaced a SAAB 3L V6 with a Saturn V6 from a LS300. Apparently only one mounting bolt for the transmission was different. (One less bolt used on the Saturn engine.)
If the Opel engine is part of the GM 54 Degree V6 family, it might be worth investigating.
