I have a Mityvac, so I applied 30 psi vacuum to the rear bleeder (slightly cracked, of course), and still no luck. I also poked around the hole for the bleeder valve, with a pick, and also slightly loosened the rubber hose to the caliper, but got no sign of brake fluid -- so if there's a clog, it's up higher.
However, the Haynes manual says to bleed the rears by turning on the ignition and depressing the brake pedal so the pump comes on. Well, my pump DOES NOT come on. WTF? I checked the fuse and circuit breaker (swapped both) in the brake/ABS fuse box under the hood, and made no difference.
One thing I don't understand is why I don't get any brake or ABS warning lights (and the ABS lamp does work -- I've had ABS problems previously). Will this car really let me drive with NO PRESSURE to one rear brake, without giving me some kind of warning?
(Another thought: I had spent a good deal of quality time under the car replacing the starter -- is there anything obvious that I could have dislodged/forgot to reconnect?
Thanks for any ideas.
