Fuel pump, fuel pump

Two 93 cars, two fuel pumps, stranded once.
With one, it was serendipitously in the front of the house, so it wasn't really a stranding; ordered a new fuel pump insert, swapped it, and it was good to go.
Second time needed a tow, and that wasn't really a failed pump, but more due to poor work on the part of the previous person that did work on the fuel pump assembly; he elected to use the short FI hose splice method with worm screw clamps, but it worked loose under the pressure and just pumped away merrily inside the assembly, with no fuel getting out to the engine.
Reattached with extra measures to make sure the hose stays connected and it was back up.
Other than that, it's been rolling along without a hitch, no DI or crank sensor problems yet.
Part of my diagnosis kit includes a short length of wire, can of carb cleaner, and a meter. Makes it easy to check quickly if it's a fuel system problem.
