Hi Jim,
Happened to me yesterday.'96 cse I hit the entranc ramp and really let her rip, suddenly she had a mind of her own idle wise and when I would try to accelerate gently she would lag and then I'd get a thump from the rear.I limped home as I was only two miles away and the idle was oscillating between 1500 and 2000 rpm's.Pulled into my spot and left her running and popped the hood and right there on the inlet manifold was a popped off vac hose.plugged her back in and she went back to normal.Looking at the motor from the front this hose is on the right side of the inlet .the air chamber before the intake manifold. This hose (mine) is about 3/8 diameter and enters horizontally and from the front and is clamped to a connection which pulled out of the inlet.Probably needs to be re-gooped with whatever brown stuff is on there to hold it in the manifold. It's right above the thermostat if you know where that is.Good luck.
