I've actually used it, but it was packaged differently. I think Raid or a company like it has it on the shelves. It comes in little packages that you leave unopened, and place them in the areas that the rodents are. They eat through the paper packaging, and eat the blue pellets inside.
We had a situation where two large mice (aka, field rats) found a way into our home. They were devouring all of our surplus food in the storage cabinets, as well as eating through walls and rubber hosing for the dishwasher. I tried in vain to capture them using the Have-A-Heart traps, where I could have released them into the wild far away. They knew that the traps were for them since they would not go near the favorable bait I was using. I had no other choice but to use the stuff I described above (which is probably the same as yours, just in a different style).
They did eat it, and I found one of them easily. Unfortunately, the other decided to call it quits within a family room wall and now I had to cut into the bottom of the wall to get rid of it. Let's just say it was not a pretty sight or smell...
