Good suggestion. I too have a similar type of problem. New or known or known good master cylinder (can't recall if it was new or I took it off a the car I retired) and a new clutch hose. Did this due to clutch engaging/disengaging with pedal right on the floor. Now somewhat worse as it doesn't seem to disengage. No air as when pressing the pedal down one can see the pedal assembly under visible strain but no movement at clutch.

I had been waiting until I had time to remove the trans and put in a good used pressure plate and slave, now I think I will try this reverse bleeding of the slave (pressure at the slave to clear any blockage).
